THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY INTERVIEWS (Videos) – The stars of The Hundred-Foot Journey sat down with ScreenSlam to discuss the upcoming film about breaking cultural boundaries through exotic cuisine.
Based on the 2010 novel by Richard C. Morais, the film stars Helen Mirren as Madame Mallory, the stiff, detail-oriented owner of a Michelin-starred restaurant in a small village in France. While she is busily running her very popular and elegant restaurant, a wandering Indian family starts their own restaurant a hundred foot steps away from her. Initially, she is unwelcoming to their flavors and their restaurant’s atmosphere, but over time, the two restaurants realize that their signature dishes can blend quite well.
The Hundred-Foot Journey is directed by Lasse Hallström and also stars Om Puri, Manish Dayal, Juhi Chawla, and Charlotte Le Bon.

PLOT: The Kadam family clashes with Madame Mallory, proprietress of a celebrated French restaurant, after they open their own nearby eatery, until undeniable chemistry causes the Madame to take gifted young chef Hassan under her wing.
